Founded in 1948, Eishogen’s principal activity is the production and distribution of Chinese wine. The company recorded sales of Y5.1 billion ($38.5 million/EUR44.3 million) in the year to March 2001. The precise details of the deal, agreed last month, were not disclosed.
JAPAN: Kirin acquires Eishogen
In a bid to build its presence in the low-alcohol drinks sector, Japanese brewer, Kirin, has agreed to buy 99% of the shares in Eishogen Corp from the Oji Paper Co. Following the purchase, Kirin plans expand its range of low- alcohol drinks.
