The Italian wine producer Ruffino has signed an agreement with the investment company Invest Industrial to “create a fund for the acquisition of new land and vineyards for the production of high quality wines”, the Italian press reported today.

In 2001 Ruffino moved beyond its traditional Tuscan boundaries by acquiring the Borgo Conventi properties in Friuli and now wants to continue its expansion.

The fund, which will not control any of the current Ruffino properties, will be used to invest in the wine category without any geographical limits.

The Italian press reported that the deal amounts to €70m.

Invest Industrial is a specialist in non quoted companies capital investments.
