Mountain Dew, the PepsiCo-owned soft drink, has carved out a 4-5% market share of the Indian soft drinks category within three moths of its launch, the country’s press reported today.


Shashi Kalathil, executive director (marketing), Pepsi Foods called the growth “unprecedented in the industry”. He said that the brand achieved sales of about 5 million cases since its launch.


The carbonated soft drinks market is estimated at about 100 million cases per annum.
