The Greek drinks group, Amvyx, has reported a pre-tax profit of €2.8m (US$3.1m) for 2002, against €435,000 (US$488,000) in 2001. Amvyx had attributed the low 2001 profit to extraordinary expenses incurred in 2001.
Amvyx, which is based in Athens, said sales rose from €61.3m (US$69m) in 2001 to €66.2m (US$74.2m) in 2002. The company distributes Grant’s, Glenfiddich, Absolut, Moet & Chandon and Ouzo 12 in Greece.
