The German wine group Racke said today that it will be expanding its portfolio with the addition of wines from Gruppo Italiano Vini (GIV), in particular the Lamberti brand, from June this year.
The distribution, marketing and sales agreement follows the recent merger of Racke with its German competitor Steiner, the previous GIV partner in the country. Steiner will continue to distribute other GIV products.
Emilio Pedron, of GIV, said: “This new co-operation offers Gruppo Italiano Vini the use of accurate and matching distribution channels for each of our wines in our divers brand portfolio.”
Lamberti produces some 8m bottles a year, exporting 75%.
Racke said the deal further strengthens its strategy to expand its portfolio with international brands.
