The Champagne producer Nicolas Feuillatte has reported record sales for 2002 of 6.2m bottles worldwide, a 17% increase on the year 2001. The rise makes the company the seventh largest producer in Champagne.
The company enjoyed particular success in the UK market, where the key multiple grocer sector saw sales up 32% in volume and 30% in value.
Exports now account for 40% of total sales and increased 37.5% in total volume last year.
In a statement the company said it had set new objectives for 2003. “The company will concentrate on managing its growth efficiently, focusing on two key objectives: export markets to account for 50% of its sales and a new focus on its vintage and prestige Cuvees.
