Figures released yesterday show beverage consumption in Finland is on the decline. Finnish beer and soft drink producers have registered a drop in entire beverage consumption by 3.2% year-on-year for January to September.


The figures in the Finnish press showed that cider consumption was hit the hardest, down 10.4% year-on-year, while the consumption of soft drinks also fell, by 4.3%. The consumption of beer in Finland fell by 2.9%, with sales of light beer down by 15.2%, strong beer down by 8.9%, and medium-strong beer dropping by 2.1%.


Sales of mineral water, however, increased by 2.1% year-on-year.
