The Czech brewer, Krusovice, posted a profit of CZK41.5m for 2002, against CZK600,000 in 2001, on sales of CZK1 billion, up from CZK804.7m in 2001.

Krusovice, which is part of the German brewing force, Binding Brauerei, which is in turn controlled by the Dr. Oekter group, said that export growth of 30% had boosted profits in 2002. However, total output in 2002 fell by 32,000 hectolitres to 674,400 hls which Krusovice attributed to growing low-priced competition in the Czech Republic.
