The regional brewer, in which the Drinks Union group holds a controlling 66.14% stake, attributed the improvement principally to higher beer sales, particularly in export markets, as well as lower overheads and energy costs. Exports represent around 10% of Louny’s total sales.
CZECH REPUBLIC: First half profit up 12% at Louny
The Czech brewer, Pivovar Louny, posted first half profits of CKR13.07m, up 11.7% from last year. Sales rose by 4.7% to CKR108.37m. The company reported that volumes had risen by 5.47% to 124,090 hls.
