The Colombian brewer Bavaria has increased its stake in the Peruvian beer maker Backus.


Bavaria said yesterday that it had acquired an extra 1.17% of voting shares in Backus for US$23m. The move takes its stake to 60%.


Backus is currently Peru’s only brewer.
