CHILE: Wine less likely to cause cirrhosis than beer, spirits
Drinking wine rather than beer or spirits is less likely to lead to cause cirrhosis of the liver among those who drink alcohol, a study by the Alcohol Research Centre has claimed. Presenting its findings to the Vinsalud 2002 wine and health conference yesterday, the Centre said only 9.6% of 300 Danes with alcohol-induced cirrhosis drank more wine than other alcoholic drinks put together.
