The Chilean soft drinks group, Coca-Cola Embonor, has reported a net loss of CHP3.65 billion (US$5.22m/€4.84m) for the first half of 2003, against a net loss of CHP2.11 billion (US$3.01m/€2.79m) in the first half of 2002.
Embonor attributed the improved performance to increased sales and reduced costs. Revenues were up by 3.5% year-on-year, the company said, rising by 3.2% in Chile, by 1.3% in Peru and by 11.5% in Bolivia.
The company said operating revenues had fallen by 3.7% to CHP115.6 billion (US$165.27m/€153.22m), while operating profits reached CHP8.98 billion (US$12.83m/€11.9m).
