The Chilean winery, Concha y Toro, has posted first-quarter net profits of CHP4.242 billion (US$5.8m), up 46.7% from the first quarter of 2002.
EBITDA at Concha y Toro, Chile’s leading wine producer and exporter, rose by 30.5% to CHP6.407 billion, while operating income increased by 38.6% to CHP4.722 billion.
Total sales rose by 30.4% to CHP32.331 billion on the back of growth in both the US and European markets. The company said exports were up by 19.5% in volume terms, while domestic volumes rose by 23%.
