The company posted net earnings of C$1.5m for the three months to the end of June, against C$2.3m in the corresponding period last year. However, last year’s first quarter figure included a C$1m after-tax gain related to the sale of Andres’s stake in a Quebec winery. On a comparable basis, earnings were up by 11.7%. Sales rose by 5% from C$32.5m to C$34.1m.
CANADA: Premium brands boost Andres
Canadian wine company, Andres Wines Ltd., reported that net earnings on a like-for-like basis for the first quarter of its fiscal year were 11.7% up.
