By GlobalDataThe Laphroaig 10 Year Old Sherry Oak, the single malt brand’s latest take on its ten-year-old expression, arrives in the UK off-premise next month. As part of the whisky’s maturation process, the liquid spends between 12 and 18 months in ex-Oloroso Sherry casks.
Details of the wider plans for the iteration beyond the UK were not immediately available.
“We are so excited to announce the release of our unique and premium expression, Sherry Oak, taking our iconic Laphroaig 10 Year Old and finishing it with the sweet flavours of Oloroso Sherry cask,” said distillery manager John Campbell. “This is a perfect accompaniment to any whisky collection and a celebrated addition to the Laphroaig range.”
Earlier this month, Beam Suntory outlined plans to reintroduce “more traditional production processes” at its Glen Garioch distillery in Scotland’s Highlands region. As well as Laphroaig and Glen Garioch, the group also owns the Bowmore and Auchentoshan single malt brands.
