Sales of Australian wine have risen, both domestically and abroad, according to figures from the country’s Bureau of Statistics today.


In June this year domestic wine sales were up 3.6% to a seasonally adjusted 34.2m litres from 33.0m litres in May, and were up 5.6% from 32.4m litres in June 2002.


Exports meanwhile in the month reached an unadjusted total of 49.3m litres with a value of A$220.4m, compared with 45.8m litres in May valued at A$198.3m.


Compared to the same period last year, volumes were up but value fell from 43.7m litres and A$225.3m respectively.
