Australian listed wine producer Evans & Tate, having completed formally its acquisition of Cranswick Premium Wines, plans a new export push.

Current plans in Europe focus upon Barramundi, the group said. And the company’s Salisbury brand will also be the subject of a new push in Australia, the UK and Continental Europe.

Franklin Tate, chairman and CEO, Evans & Tate Limited said: “Our enlarged team is now focused on a number of key activities, including, on the brand side, building on the success of Barramundi, particularly in Europe, and relaunching the highly successful Salisbury label in Australia and building the brand in Europe. In business terms we will use the critical mass of the new company to build on the new market opportunities in the volume end of the business as well as bringing our premium wines to a wider audience.”

The new entity will have an annual crush capacity of 51,000 tonnes, with sales exceeding 2.4 million cases and revenues exceeding A$90m.

The company continues to be listed on the Australian Stock Exchange as Evans & Tate Limited. However, in a statement it said: “Evans & Tate recognises the strength of the Cranswick name outside Australia and its existence will continue with specific announcements to be made at a later date.”
