Anheuser-Busch InBev has launched the Babe canned sparkling wine brand in the UK.
Babe rolls out in the UK exclusively in Sainsbury’s supermarkets from this month. The release includes a UK-only 20cl can of Sparkling Rosé on sale for GBP2.15 (US$2.70).
The Babe brand became part of A-B InBev in 2018 when the company’s global growth and innovation group, ZX Ventures, acquired a minority stake in owner Swish Beverages. The beer giant purchased the remaining stake in June last year.
Babe was co-founded by Instagram influencer Josh Ostrovsky, known by his social media handle The Fat Jewish, in 2016. Model and actor Emily Ratajkowski is the brand’s “chief of taste”.
Commenting on the UK launch, Ostrovsky said: “It’s about time we made our way across the pond and launching in Sainsbury’s is the best way to get everyone our ridiculously delicious bubbly.”
The Babe wine range includes Rosé, Pinot Grigio and Red canned variants.
