A recently granted patent (Publication Number: US11725382B2) describes a wall panel system that includes frameless glass panels secured between the floor and ceiling of a room. The first and second sides of each glass panel are free of any vertical frame member. The first side of the first glass panel and the second side of the second glass panel have chamfered front and back corners. A gasket is received between the first and second edges of the glass panels, with the gasket having a complementary profile to the edge profiles of the glass panels. The gasket extends over only a portion of the chamfered corners of the glass panels.

The patent also mentions additional features of the wall panel system. The gasket has a front, back, and middle, with the front and back being wider than the middle. The first and second side edges of the glass panels are received against the middle of the gasket. The system includes a height adjustment assembly to selectively raise or lower the first glass panel, along with a continuous base cover to conceal the height adjustment assembly. A ceiling track spans the glass panels, and a sliding door assembly can be mounted onto the ceiling track. The system also includes a continuous ceiling cover and a continuous base cover, along with height adjusters within the base cover to compensate for floor or ceiling deviations. The thickness of the glass panels is between about ¼" and about ?", and the width of the gasket is less than the widths of the glass panels.

This patented wall panel system offers a frameless and aesthetically pleasing solution for dividing rooms using glass panels. The chamfered corners and gasket provide a seamless appearance while allowing for some flexibility in installation. The height adjustment assembly and base cover help create a uniform wall panel assembly, even in the presence of floor or ceiling deviations. The inclusion of a ceiling track and sliding door assembly adds versatility to the system, allowing for the creation of movable partitions. Overall, this patent presents a comprehensive and innovative solution for constructing wall panel systems using frameless glass panels.
