A recently filed patent (Publication Number: US20230278359A1) describes a pocket structure with unique features. The pocket structure includes a first panel and a second panel that are coupled together to create a pocket. The second panel has an opening that intersects an outer edge, with the opening having a transverse portion and a leg portion.

In one embodiment, the transverse portion is positioned between the leg and the outer edge. Alternatively, the leg can be positioned between the transverse portion and the outer edge. The opening may also have a supplemental leg portion oriented perpendicular to the free edge, with the transverse portion positioned between the leg portion and the supplemental leg portion. This configuration creates a generally "z" shaped opening.

The transverse portion of the opening has a length greater than the leg portion and the supplemental leg portion. It is also oriented at an angle relative to the free edge, which is equal to or less than about 30 degrees.

The first panel and second panel are both rectangular in top view, with the first panel being larger than the second panel. The two outermost edges of the second panel are aligned with the associated outermost edges of the first panel.

The second panel is not fully coupled to the first panel along the outer edge, allowing the outer edge to move away from the first panel for easy insertion of items into the pocket. However, the second panel is partially coupled to the first panel along a secured edge, and the opening is positioned at or adjacent to the intersection of the secured edge and the free edge.

The pocket structure can also have a supplemental free edge and a supplemental secured edge, with a supplemental opening positioned along the supplemental free edge and intersecting the supplemental secured edge.

In another embodiment, the transverse portion of the opening is oriented parallel or at an acute angle relative to the outer edge. The acute angle can be equal to or less than about 30 degrees.

Overall, this patent describes a pocket structure with various configurations and features that enhance its functionality and ease of use.
