North America buoyant market for drinks industry cybersecurity hiring

Some parts of the world are investing more heavily in cybersecurity roles than others.

By Data Journalism Team

North America extended its dominance for cybersecurity hiring among drinks industry companies in the three months ending July.

The number of roles in North America made up 48% of total cybersecurity jobs – up from 35.1% in the same quarter last year.

The figures are compiled by GlobalData, which tracks the number of new job postings from key companies in various sectors over time. Using textual analysis, these job advertisements are then classified thematically.

GlobalData's thematic approach to sector activity seeks to group key company information by topic to see which companies are best placed to weather the disruptions coming to their industries.

These key themes, which include cybersecurity, are chosen to cover "any issue that keeps a CEO awake at night".

Tracking them across job advertisements allows GlobalData to see which companies are leading the way on specific issues and which are dragging their heels - and importantly where the market is expanding and contracting.

Which countries are seeing the most growth for cybersecurity job ads in the drinks industry?

The fastest growing country was the US, which saw 27.9% of all cybersecurity job adverts in the three months ending July 2021, a level that increased to 46.6% in the three months ending July this year.

Which cities and locations are the biggest hubs for cybersecurity workers in the drinks industry?

Some 17.6% of all drinks industry cybersecurity roles were advertised in Holiday in the US in the three months ending July.

That was followed by Plano (also in the US) with 4.4%, Lausanne (Switzerland) with 3.5%, and Central (another US city), which also accounted for 3.5% of the job ads.
