Management Occupations drive consumer hiring activity

Management Occupations, with a share of 13% new job postings, was the occupation with the greatest hiring activity in the North American consumer industry in Q1 2023 , ahead of Sales and Related Occupations with a 10% share of new job postings.

The other prominent roles included Production Occupations with a 7% share in Q1 2023, Transportation and Material Moving Occupations with a 7% share and Office and Administrative Support Occupations with a 6% share of new job postings.

Top five companies accounted for 22% of hiring activity

Petco Health and Wellness posted 9,490 jobs in Q1 2023 and registered a growth of 164% over the previous quarter, followed by Ros Agro with 6,675 jobs and a 148% growth. J. R. Simplot, with 5,906 jobs, and International Flavors & Fragrances, with 5,656 jobs, recorded a 10% rise and a 97% rise, respectively, while Coty recorded a 284% increase with a 5,211 new job postings during Q1 2023.
