Notably, COVID-19 was one of the most frequently referenced themes in Q1 2024, ranking highest in terms of mentions, ahead of robotics and niche tourism, according to GlobalData.
Of the top leading companies in the consumer industry, Ambev had the greatest increase in references for COVID-19 in Q1 2024, compared with the previous quarter. GlobalData identified 22 COVID-19-related sentences in the company's filings - 1% of all sentences - and a decrease of 54% in Q1 2024 compared with Q1 2023. Haleon’s mentions of COVID-19 dropped by 13% to 20 and Church & Dwight’s by 39% to 19 and Carlsberg’s by 77% to 18 and On’s by 59% to 15.
