According to the State Winery Fund, Moldovan wine production rose by 29% to 8.5m decalitres in the first half of 2003. The State Winery Fund also reported that bottled wine volumes had reached 6.6m decalitres in the same period.
Among the leading producers of bottled wine in Moldova are Basvinex, Cricova-Acorex, Asconi Corporation, Lion Gri, Wine International Project, Alianta vin and DC Intertrade.
According to the State Winery Fund data, annual wine exports from Moldova total in excess of US$180m (€156.5m).
