Coming up at this year’s London International Wine Fair:

  • Plaimont Producteurs (Stand D20/1) will have export director Etienne de Rességuier and UK area sales manager Xavier Didelon on the stand for all three days of the wine fair. Winemaker Thomas Troulay will be in attendance on Monday afternoon and Tuesday morning. Among the wines on show will be two new cuvees: Cuvee Colombelle Côtes de Gascogne ( the company’s first organic cuvee), and Cuvee Cîmes from the Madiran appellation.
  • Treasury Wine Estates (Stand J30) will feature Penfolds Icon & Luxury wines 2013 on its stand. Released in May, the range features several wines from the 2010 vintage. Also present will be Sue Hodder, senior winemaker at the Wynns Coonawarra Estate in South Australia’s Coonawarra region. Hodder will showcase the estate’s wines in the LIWF master-class theatre on Monday between 1315 and 1400. TWE will also present Matua from New Zealand, the first Sauvignon Blanc to be planted in the country. For further details, contact Peter English at peter.english@tweglobal.com.
  • Blends (Stand I30), an international group of wineries, will launch at this year’s LIWF. On the stand, Uruguay’s Bodega Garzón will present samples of white wines from its 2013 vintage, while Bodega Vistalba from Argentina will show the latest vintages of its Corte A, B and C wines, the Tomero and Tomero Reserva ranges and will preview its sparkling Progenie range, including an Extra Brut style. Dievole from Tuscany will show its range of wines from the Chianti Classico region, and Renwood Winery from northern California will showcase Clarion 2010 (a blend of 75% Zinfandel and 25% Syrah), Renwood Old Vine Zinfandel and Fiddletown Zinfandel. Finally, Argento from Argentina will introduce the Esquinas de Argento Malbec. Also, on the Monday between 1445 and 1530, Alberto Antonini will present a Blends Wine Estates masterclass entitled, ‘Making wines with a sense of place for the global market’. • BoxMart (Stand N62) will use this year’s exhibition to launch its latest gift box for bottles, BritBox. The new pack has “the appearance of a luxury rigid box but the convenience of flat pack”, according to the company. The BritBox is designed and manufactured in the UK with the potential for cost and lead-time savings compared to Far East alternatives, the company claims.
