The industry’s overall hiring increased by 1.56% in July 2022 when compared with June 2022.
Out of the consumer industry’s total hiring activity, IT jobs claimed a 1.56% share in July 2022, recording a decrease of 0.02% over the last three-month average share.

By GlobalData1) Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers recorded a share of 36.4% in July 2022, registering an 18.66% decline over the previous month.
2) Computer and Information Analysts claimed a 25.59% share, a decrease of 5.91% over the previous month.
3) Database and Network Administrators and Architects held a share of 18.42%, registering a 25.22% decline from June 2022.
4) Miscellaneous Computer Occupations captured a share of 11.24%, down 31.37% over the previous month.
Top five consumer companies in the US’s IT recruitment activity in July 2022
The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, have accounted for a combined average growth of 16.28% share in the overall IT recruitment activity of the US’s consumer industry during July 2022 over June 2022.
PepsiCo posted 54 IT jobs in July 2022 and registered a drop of 1.82% over the previous month, followed by Bunge with 41 jobs and a 46.43% growth. Carrier Global with 40 IT jobs and Petco Health and WellnessInc with 39 jobs, recorded a 41.18% decline and an 85.71% growth, respectively, while Mohawk Industries recorded a flat growth with 26 job postings during July 2022.
Junior Level job postings dominate in July 2022
Junior Level jobs held a share of 58.67%, down by 23.14% from June 2022. Mid Level positions with a 26.02% share, registered a decline of 3.95% compared with the previous month.
In the third place was Entry Level job ads with 13.6% share, down 36.5% over June 2022, while Senior postings accounted for 1.71%, recording a month-on-month increase of 14.29%.
