Molson Coors will report its third-quarter and year-to-date results on Thursday. Here, just-drinks takes a look at how the brewer has fared in the past quarter:
- In July, the company was one of a group of brewers that called for further cuts to beer duty levels in the UK as part of a new sector-wide manifesto
- Molson Coors announced that its CEO Peter Swinburn will retire at the end of the year to be replaced by the group’s Europe chief, Mark Hunter. Analysts were quick to ask if anything could be read into Swinburn’s decision to step down in relation to a merger between SABMiller and Anheuser-Busch InBev
- In August, the brewer agreed a multi-year deal with Heineken to handle five more of the Dutch brewer’s brands in Canada.
- In the same month, Molson Coors appointed a new CEO for its Europe business to replace Hunter
- In September, Heineken branded reports that it is in negotiation to sell its Czech operations to Molson Coors as “speculative rumours”.
