The two companies have apparently informed trade unions of the sale, as required under French labour laws. Sources suggested that Credit Agricole SA was giving financial backing and advice to Vranken Monopole. Vranken Monopole secretary general, Emmanuel Desmettre, said talks with LVMH were ongoing and he expected the deal to be concluded “within two to three weeks.”
FRANCE: Pommery sale edges closer
According to reports, French drinks and luxury goods company, LVMH, has decided that it will sell its Champagne brand, Pommery, to Champagne house, Vranken Monopole SA, for between EUR150 million and EUR180 million.
