Strategic Beverage Services, based in Santa Rosa in California, said the purchase will broaden its operating capacity and its footprint across clients that span wineries, distilleries, cider producers and functional beverage companies.

In a statement to Just Drinks, the company said the transaction includes all of BevZero’s US assets, including three spinning cone vacuum distillation columns, along with related tanks and other equipment.

The company said it has bought the US franchise rights from BevZero International, which is now focusing on expanding its services in Europe.

Under the new structure, de-alcoholisation activities will be run through BevZero. Bottling, canning and production work will be carried out under Strategic Beverage Services.

For larger projects involving both sets of services, operations will be conducted as Strategic Beverage Services.

Strategic Beverage Services handles the de-alc process for its customers and also offers product formulation and recipe development.

The company told Just Drinks it produces no- and low-alcoholic wine and cider-based beverages for names like Fraudonnay, Solubrea, Drink Nouvie, Yours and Rayner Mansion.

Its footprint includes a de-alc facility in Santa Rosa and a production and bottling site in Lodi.

The beverage processor said it intends to open additional sites next year that will bring together bottling, canning and sparkling wine capabilities at single locations.

Those facilities are expected to make both non-alcoholic and full-strength beverages.
