I've often thought that the drinks industry needs to be closer to modern technology, so was pleased to read this week that PepsiCo CFO Hugh Johnston has been appointed to the board of Twitter.

Unfortunately, Johnston is no tech svengali. As of his appointment on Wednesday, his Twitter account had sent zero tweets.

But don't despair. He has since broken his Twitter silence with a debut posting. Well done, Hugh!
