Wine sales from the Spanish region of Rioja have leapt 25% in the first half of 2002, compared to the same period last year, according to figures from the region's administrative regulator. Wine sales have reached 123m litres this year with the largest growth in sales from young and two-year-old wines, up 28% and 25% respectively. While the sale of aged wines increased 14 percent.
