Beijing Yanjing Brewery has denied reports that it is joining the race for control of Fujian Sedrin Brewery. The Chinese brewer has dismissed reports today (3 November) that it will bid for Sedrin.

Reports earlier today in Hong Kong newspaper The Standard suggested that Yanjing would join a host of international brewers for 39.5% of the company. Speaking to XFN-Asia, a company official who did not wish to be named said: "It is not true."

The Financial Times claimed yesterday that Anheuser-Busch, InBev and Heineken are already considering buying the stake in Sedrin.

Separate reports last week claimed that InBev and Heineken are squaring up over a 30% stake in Xujin brewery in Fujian province.
