The UK's largest regional brewer Wolverhampton & Dudley Breweries (W&D) announced a 2% lift in first-half pretax profits today from £30.7m to £31.3m. The results were in line with analysts' expectations. The company then announced that it would also be returning £50m to shareholders through a tender offer by the end of July.
