Wirtz Beverage Group (WBG) has announced a shake-up in roles for its senior management.

Daniel Wirtz, currently executive VP, is stepping up to be the Chicago-based distributor's president. He replaces his father Rocky Wirtz, who will become chairman.

In another major change, Arthur Wirtz, the executive VP of supply chain, will take the post of chief operating officer. Details of his predecessor were not disclosed.

“This is a family-run business that has spanned four generations of active leadership,” said Rocky Wirtz. “These changes represent the future leadership of this organisation and will serve to take our company to its next level of growth and innovation.”

WBG, which distributes beer, wine and spirits across North America has offices in Illinois, Iowa, Minnesota, Nevada, Wisconsin and Canada.
