Wine exports from Chile for the year to September have leapt, according to figures released yesterday (2 November).

While the value of Chile's wine exports in the period from October 2003 to September 2004 rose by 26.1% year-on-year to US$791.2m, the volume of exports also rose, by 22.9% to 454.7m litres.

Exports to the US and Canada were up by 11.8% in volume and 15.1% in value, and exports to Asia and Oceania increased by 29.6% in volume and 35.7% in value.

Chilean wine exports to the UK followed the trend, climbing by 29.2% in volume.
