The company said today that Helen Cowing became group CFO earlier this month. She replaces Mike Lamont, who is retiring after six years as in the role.

Cowing will also join the company's supervisory and executive boards. She joins the Hendrick's Gin owner from financial services and energy group Octopus, where she was also CFO.

Cowing has also held the same position at global construction company ISG, Selecta Group, and FatFace, as well as senior finance positions at PepsiCo, Novartis, AP Moeller, Nestle and Kraft Jacob Suchard (Mondelez).

"We're delighted to welcome Helen Cowing to William Grant & Sons in this important role," said CEO Simon Hunt. "Helen's impressive leadership of global businesses, her international financial expertise and her commitment to values-based leadership in developing high performing teams, will make her a great addition to the executive board and the wider business."

Cowing will be based at the company's Strathclyde Business Park location in Scotland.
