William Grant & Sons has launched another tattoo-inspired bottle design for its Sailor Jerry rum brand in the UK market.

The group said today that the 'rose and eagle' design reinforces the brand's "premium spirits status" as well as its "heavy tattoo influence". The pack, which will be available for a limited - albeit unspecified - time, follows the release of a hula-girl bottle, which rolled out last month.

The series pays homage to tattoo artist Norman 'Sailor Jerry' Collins. The matt-black bottle carries an RRP of GBP20.29 (US$26.46) and will be available in UK supermarkets.

Sailor Jerry is made in the US from Caribbean rum that is blended with spices including ginger, cinnamon, clove and vanilla.

Also this month, William Grant & Sons lined up the release of a peated expression of its The Balvenie single malt Scotch whisky brand. The 14-year-old iteration is a 2002 vintage, was matured in American oak casks and is non-chill filtered.
