Katia Egerter, who previously worked for duty-free retailer Heinemann, will take over responsibility for several of William Grant's European customers, including Heinemann, it was announced yesterday (8 July). She started on 1 July.

Egerter replaces Ian Waddington, who previously looked after the Heinemann account, a spokesperson told just-drinks today. Waddington left to join AG Barr as demand planning manager in March having worked for William Grant since 2012.

While at Heinemann, Egerter oversaw liquor and confectionery in Russia, CIS & The Baltics. “Katia has a wealth of industry experience, has a strong understanding of the Russian and CIS consumer, speaks several languages and I am sure will be an extremely valuable addition to our team,” said William Grant's European GTR director, Andre de Almeida.

Yesterday, Scotland's electoral commission revealed William Grant has donated GBP185,000 (US$317,000) to campaign groups opposed to Scottish independence.
