West Cork Distillers' Export Stout Cask Finished Blended Irish Whiskey

Category - Irish whiskey

Available - From this month

Location - US

Price - US$29.99 per bottle

West Cork Distillers, in partnership with its US importer MS Walker, has released its first collaboration product with Massachusetts-based craft brewer Castle Island Brewing Co. The Export Stout Cask Finished Blended Irish Whiskey follows a deal between the distiller and the brewer to exchange casks.

West Cork Distillers initially shipped empty barrels that had aged their Bourbon Cask Irish Whiskey to Castle Island. The craft brewer then aged its Imperial Stout in the barrels before they were shipped back to West Cork.

The whiskey is a blend of 75% grain and 25% malt, both matured in first-fill Bourbon barrels before being married to age for 6-8 months in casks that had held Castle Island's Barrel Aged Export Stout.

The release is limited to 3,900 bottles.
