West Cork Distillers has released three 12-year-old Irish whiskeys to the US market, each with a different cask finish. The single malts are made with Irish malted barley and aged in first-fill Bourbon casks for 12 years before being finished in either Sherry, rum or Port casks for between six and 12 months.

The company said it plans to release 2,500 of each expression to the US. The whiskeys will be handled in the market by importer MS Walker.

Earlier this year, Halewood Wines & Spirits acquired a holding in West Cork Distillers, four months after buying a 50% holding in the firm's The Pogues brand. Halewood said it bought "a significant stake" in the whiskey producer, without giving further details.
