The UK's regional brewer and pub landlord Wolverhampton & Dudley said today that its trading over the 15 weeks to January 15th had been in line with expectations.

Ralph Findlay, chief executive, said: "Trading overall in the 15 weeks to 15 January 2005 has been in line with expectations. Total like-for-like sales for the 15 weeks were 3.0% ahead of last year in Pathfinder Pubs, and 3.4% ahead in The Union Pub Company.

The comany added that its recent acquisition of Burtonwood PLC was completed on 6 January 2005. The integration of the 460 pub estate is now underway and will be completed by the end of April 2005.  Trading in the acquired business over the festive period was good and in line with our expectations.

"The business continues to make good progress, and we remain prudently financed, providing us with considerable flexibility to take advantage of opportunities as they arise," Findlay added.
