New UK spirits company W Nicholson & Co has relaunched former Pernod Ricard brand Nicholson Gin.

Nicholson Gin dates back to 1736
Direct descendants of the original Nicholson founders Nicholas Browne and Tim Walker took over the dormant gin brand, which dates back to 1736, and will roll it out to the UK this month. Nicholson Gin ceased production in the early 1980s, a spokesperson for the brand told just-drinks.
The new Nicholson Original London Dry combines ten botanicals - juniper berries, coriander, angelica root, citrus peels from oranges and lemons, cinnamon, orris root, cassia bark, nutmeg and liquorice - and is distilled at Thames Distillers in London. It will be available in the UK on-premise and through Amazon for GBP32.50 (US$42) per 70cl bottle.
The revival includes an updated label for the gin, which reflects the importance of the Nicholson family in the history of gin as well as their links to cricket in the 19th Century.
