Canadian wine group, Vincor International Inc., has posted an increase in net sales for the quarter to the end of September 2002 of 17.8% from C$91.9m to C$108.2m. Net income for the second quarter of the current fiscal year rose by 59.8% from $7.0m to $11.2m.

During the second quarter, operating income rose to $19.9m, up 31% from the second quarter of the previous year. Net sales for the six-month period to the end of September rose from C$174.2m to C$209.3m, while net income rose from C$11.0m to $19.4m.

"As we enter the second half of fiscal 2003, Vincor has advanced significantly toward expanding operations to all New World wine regions. We've welcomed Goundrey Wines, one of the largest producers of Western Australian premium and super-premium wine for the Australian market to our family of estate wineries," said Donald L.
