Press reports have suggested that the Canadian-based wine group, Vincor International, is on the hunt for acquisitions in Australia's Margaret Valley region. According to the reports, executives from the Canadian wine group have visited various company's in the region.

Among the Australian wineries that have been suggested as possible acquisition targets for Vincor are Xanadu, Amberley Estate, Jack Bendat's Goundrey and Evans & Tate, which is involved in a $90m merger with Cranswick Premium Wines. Vincor, the fourth largest wine company in North America, has been candid about its desire to acquire a premium Australian wine company.
