Villa Maria is giving away a trip to New Zealand

Wine producer Villa Maria has launched a consumer competition in the UK to give away a trip to the brand's home country of New Zealand.

The company said today that the on-pack promotion will run in both the national and independent off-premise. The activation is part of Villa Maria's wider 'Open Another World' campaign to "raise brand awareness among consumers".

Drinkers can enter the competition to win one of two trips to New Zealand via a hidden URL on neck collars. The activation is carried on Villa Maria Private Bin Sauvignon Blanc, Pinot Grigio and Pinot Noir bottles. 

The giveaway comprises return flights, accommodation, car hire and NZD2,000 (US$1,370) spending money. 

Financial details behind the activity were not disclosed.

Last month, the International Organisation for Vine and Wine said this year's wine production in New Zealand is expected to fall 9%
