Viña Ventisquero is forecasting a strong rise in sales for this year. The Chilean wine company expects to sell around 950,000 boxes in 2005, an increase on last year of 36%.

In a statement on Tuesday (8 November) the company's production manager, Pablo Morande, said that he sees sales this year reaching US$20m for Ventisquero.

The company is aiming to export 500,000 boxes of wine this year, with the UK taking around 300,000.

In January, however, Ventisquero forecast sales for 2005 of around 1.2m cases.

The winery markets three brands: Ventisquero, Yali and Yelcho.
