Van Houtte has revealed its recent acquisitions in North America. The Canadian coffee company said yesterday (17 May) that, between 8 February and 13 May, it acquired seven coffee service operations for around C$3.5m (US$2.76m) plus working costs.

In a press release, Van Houtte said that six of the seven businesses operate in the US and are based in Florida, Georgia, New Jersey, Texas and Illinois. The US operations were purchased through the company's US subsidiary, Filterfresh Coffee Services Inc. The remaining business is located in Alberta, Canada.

The seven acquired operations add around C$5m on an annual basis to Van Houtte's consolidated sales and EBITDA of C$1.3m, the company added. The businesses are expected to be "immediately accretive to earnings," and Van Houtte estimates an annual contribution of around C$0.02 per share.

Company sales for the third quarter to 5 January totalled C$82.5m (US$65.2m).
