The UK's Wine and Spirit Trade Association (WSTA)  has added two new members to its board.

The organisation said late last week that Jeremy Shepherd from Brown-Forman and Mark Riley from Edrington-Beam Suntory UK have joined the board. The pair took up the positions earlier this month.

Shepherd, who joined Brown-Forman in 2005, is VP, country manager UK. He has held various international marketing and sales leadership roles across his native Canada, the US and Europe.

Riley joined Beam in 2008, after a decade at Diageo. He is currently MD of Edrington-Beam Suntory UK.

"Having been involved in industry affairs in the US and Canada, I look forward to observing industry working in the UK and to contributing the crucial debates ahead for the UK spirits sector," said Shepherd. "The wine and spirits sectors have important contributions to make to discussions about Brexit, alcohol policy, and tax. I look forward to working with the WSTA and other industry bodies to ensure a positive future for UK consumers and the UK trade."

There is no fixed number of WSTA board members, but all are asked to do a three-year term.
