The UK has re-emerged as the major growth market for Australian wine, according to official figures.

For the year ended October 31, total exports rose 19% in volume and 10% in value to a total 623m litres, worth A$2.67 bln, (US$2.03 bln) according to the Australian Wine and Brandy Corporation.

The surge in shipments to the UK meant it was currently the largest export market followed by the US and Canada.

Despite the generally buoyant market just-drinks notes a continuing decline in value per litre, now A$4.28 (US$3.25).
