Trinchero Family Estates is planning a US$300m expansion at its Westside Winery, according to reports.

The Napa Valley-based firm, whose brands include Sutter Home, is set to build a new central bottling and distribution centre at its Lodi facility over the next three years, the website recordnet.com reported yesterday (6 February). The expansion will double capacity at the site and create around 400 new jobs, the site said.

"When finished, we believe this will be the type of facility our family and the entire Lodi community will be proud of," Roger Trinchero, Tranchero's chief executive was reported saying.

Nobody from Trinchero was immediately available for comment, but the recordnet story was posted on the company's LinkedIn page.

Last year, the company set up a spirits sales and marketing division as it looked to enter the category in the US market.
